1989 Sabreline 36 Aft Cabin

The highly sought-after two-stateroom layout of the 36 Speed Trawler Aft Cabin by Sabre (then Sabreline) is the perfect family getaway boat for our BC Coastal waters. The Flybridge has ample room to enjoy the vistas and a folding built-in table for cocktails and dining. The mezzanine is perfect for suntanning and has ample room for storing water toys, kayaks, and crab traps. 

The interior is finished in rich hardwood. The galley is spacious and well-appointed for meal prep with 3 3-burner propane stove/oven. There is a Versacold fridge, which is condo-size. There are ample built-in seating areas, which allow the captain to participate in the discussion at the helm. The helm door is perfectly located to access the decks at Starboard. The opposing door opens to the Port decks. The staterooms are large and have ample headroom. The VIP has its own washroom (head) and ample light and airflow. The master stateroom aft is spacious and feels more like a condo than a marine stateroom. 

This very popular layout is rarely available, especially one that has had the level of care of this boat. 

For five months of each year from 2014, the boat was on the hard under a winter cover (Lohmans), and Prodigy Marine had discretionary access to repair/replace faulty equipment. The maintenance records are available for review with an accepted offer. 

The quite new Lewmar Capstan windless works perfectly and boasts 250’ of a chain. As this boat only went to outstations, the ground tackle was not used much. 

The engines fire up and run perfectly. The engine room is clean and dry. The engines look immaculate, and all hoses have been regularly replaced. On cruise, she is very comfortable at 14 knots and can hit 25 knots at WOT. 

Bonne Chance is a wonderful example of the 36’ Sabreline aft cabin, which had a very strong production run. During the current owner's 10 years of ownership, the boat has received many upgrades, such as a newer Windlass, Redone Bennett trimtabs, a newer bimini, and diligent systems checks done by Prodigy Marine on Shelter Island. The boat has been on the hard every year during the Fall and Winter Months.
